What is your role at Advance Ohio?
I manage the inbound call center for Advance Local. We service private party classifieds, legal notices, and obituaries for both the Ohio and Michigan Markets. I’ve been in charge of the department for about a year and a half now, but I’ve been with the company for 12.5 years.
What was your first job?
My first job was as a stock person with Marc’s.
What are 3 words to describe what makes you successful in your role with Advance Ohio?
Responsible, invested, and dependable
What is your proudest moment at Advance Ohio?
I think it was when I was asked to switch from a sales role to management. It was a complete surprise to me that I did not see coming at all. It’s been great to help lead the team and work with George and Kate to accomplish our call center goals.
What is your source of daily motivation?
I get a lot of satisfaction from the work that myself and the team does. Especially with our obituaries department. I believe that it’s among the most important records we print for the community. Knowing that we are able to help relatives, friends, etc reconnect, even under tragic circumstances, makes me think we’re helping people.
What did you want to be when growing up?
I actually studied Criminal Justice when I first started college. I wanted to be a police officer, but family eventually talked me out of it.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What is top on your bucket list?
I’ve been attempting to plan something for years, but I’ve always wanted to visit Yosemite National Park. I love nature and hiking. I would probably have to go several times to even come close to seeing half of it. I hope to finally visit it sometime soon.
